Appreciated our big and practical rooms.

The place was reasonably priced. Our standard double room was equipped with a huge window, a mini bar, and an electric kettle. We were in a good location just a short walk away from Edo-Tokyo Museum.

The room was great value for money with great views, an electric kettle and a safe. The hotel had a convenient and easy position, near the Oeda subway entrance...

I reserved a room that had a kitchen, the location was fantastic and within walking distance to Tokyo Skytree, Senso-ji temple, subway stations, and a supermarket.

The hotel rate is a bargain. Although very small, the room has all the essential appliances for a comfortable stay.

The hotel staff has a poor command of English, but that is usually the case in Japan, as I come to learn. The room is very small, again something usual in Japan. The location is not exactly the best for someone visiting the city for a couple of days, since it is distant from the hotspots (Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ginza, Akihabara, etc). Although the public transportation system is very efficient in Tokyo, it makes you waste valuable time. If you are staying in the city for just a couple of days, it would pay to stay at a more expensive but better located hotel. One thing that was not clearly disclosed in the hotel website is that they don't offer any room service at all (cleaning, room make up) and that they charge you an extra fee if you leave the room dirty upon check out. Also, there is a rather stiff charge to open up your door if you lock yourself out of the room accidentally. Finally, the free Internet is cable only, no wi-fi (once again, that seems to be the norm in Japan), so leave the iPad at home...

It was relatively easy to find and the location is its best asset. Only a few subway/JR stations away from Akihabara, Ueno and central Tokyo. Asakusa itself is a nice place to explore. It's excellent value for money.

The only downside is the very tiny room size. There was hardly any floor space to put luggage or table/desk space for your belongings. One other small negative is that there is no tidying/cleaning service, so you need to take out the trash yourself and even use the vacuum cleaner provided to clean up the room a bit.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good location close to the subway with good access to other parts of the city, and airports. Relatively good value for budget travellers.

Lack of chamber service. Lack of soundproofing and noise from outside was disturbing at times. Limited reception desk hours.
